Jim Keplinger is the author of Second for the Dead, the first novel in the Benjamin Radcliffe thriller series. He’s been an Air Force weather forecaster, a television meteorologist, a magician, a comic book writer, and an entrepreneur. He writes thrillers, cozy mysteries, and whatever else won’t leave him alone.

Long Bio

Jim Keplinger has spent his career refusing to pick one thing. He served as an Air Force weather forecaster, built a career in television meteorology, performed as a magician, wrote comic books, and launched businesses — all while living an untethered life across more states and countries than he can easily count.

His debut novel, Second for the Dead, is the first in the Benjamin Radcliffe thriller series. Radcliffe is a behavioral game theorist who reads people for a living — until a mentor’s murder pulls him into a decades-old conspiracy that reaches the highest levels of American politics. The novel draws on Keplinger’s lifelong fascination with deception, pattern recognition, and the games people play when the stakes are real.
